Make that Mountain into molehills!
So last week Xochilt asked you to make a list of listing goals for yourself, and yesterday I challenged you to post a picture of your own personal Mt. Unlisted. Is it working yet? Do you feel ashamed of that pile? Are you motivated to dig into it?
Today I challenge you to dig in – in a very big way!
If you’re like most of us, Mt. Unlisted can contain things that give us pause. Make us wonder why we bought them in the first place. Things that we just don’t want to list, for whatever reason.
Those things are holding you back!
Today we put an end to that. Make yourself three bins
You might not have a throwaway stack. How about a ‘Take to the consignment store’ bin instead? Or a ‘Craigslist’ stack?
If you sort through your unlisted inventory with an eye for what is really worth listing on eBay/Amazon and what will sell, but just not there, you will be creating smaller, more manageable groups. And then we will tackle those!
Get cracking! Today your task is to go through your inventory and divide up what you will keep and what will go elsewhere. Make sure you post in Challenge Chat to let me know when you’re done!

And again, we’ve got a month-long comment contest on on the blog, so sharing some comment love could pay off!

I had a garage sale last weekend and am participating in a M2M sale this weekend so I’ve been working on it for awhile now. I’ll dig in today and see how far I can get… I’d love to be done sorting!
And this is only supposed to take one day? :rofl2:

Only the sorting part! I honestly don’t think I’ll get all of my own done today, but I’m going to try! And what doesn’t get done today I’m going to do in the morning. I am *always* leaving projects half-finished and I need to break the cycle!
I started doing this hard core about 2 months ago. Id done it previously, but not to as many PILES, and with lower bars in place.
Whle taking pictures yesterday, I did find some unlisted mountains which were totally overlooked in that process… so, even though most of my time is already committed for the day, I will get those sorted.
AND, I really like what you said about “those things are holding you back”. There are a number of things Ive brought back from the YS/donation boxes over and over again. I used to think that if the item did have some value, I should keep i to list “someday” when I didnt have anything of greater value.
But — you are so right. Those isles of board games slap me in the face everytime I see them. I now totally detest that Crocodile (from Crocodile Dentist) — always glaring at me from those piles.
So – tommorow (its just too late today) Im dropped the current load at SA, coming back, and filling the trunk with all of those board games.
If I someday want to play a board game like one of them — I will go purchase one! If I someday need things to list and have nothing, I will go buy something!
Thanks Heather!
(now, to keep this feeling through tommorow… .because some do have value. – although not while sitting in a heap in my basement!)

I am constantly going through closets and doing this all the time. I hate clutter!! I honestly have nothing in my listing basket right now to even photograph except a scrabble game that I am wanting to find a couple of more before listing it for the tiles. The few items I bought this morning I just finished listing. Good luck to everyone else.
This is not a project I started today (I actually started with Rebecca’s first “Serious Sept.” blog), but I’ve actually finished sorting all my stuff! I still need to send everything off to it’s new “home,” but it feels great to get that done. Now to get everything left listed!
