Ebay Listing of the day 6/02/09 Gymboree Lot

Today’s Listing of the day is…

5p LOT GYMBOREE Summer Picnic DRESS Sock LN Outfit HCTS

Very cute listing-this is an adorable set!!

Eeks, dear!! You don’t have the size in your title!! This is a major issue, and you need to edit that right away. Here’s what I’d use for a rewritten title:

Baby GYMBOREE Summer Picnic watermelon dress lot 0-3 mo

Oh, GASP!! Did I just reccommend someone remove HCTS? You bet I did. I’m all about the increased exposure of adding HCTS to your listings-but with this being a BABY item (sizes take more space), and a Gymboree item (can’t they make shorter line names?)…I think HCTS needs to go. I wish there was room to add “girl”…you could take out watermelon and add girl & hcts. Watermelon might be a *dumb* keyword…I’ll admit that. I feel strongly that it should be there, but I can’t manage to explain why this morning!! Maybe I can update this post later. About your piece count, I know it’s tempting to count socks individually and bloomers as separate items. Really, this is a three piece lot though, dear. And if I read your “5pc” as promised in your title-I would be expecting to see more pieces when I opened the listing. When I don’t I think, “wow, she is counting the socks individually?? Oh, please….” and click out. :(

About your listing fees. I see you listed in two categories and added a subtitle. I think I would have just listed it in 0-3 mixed lots. Starting it at 6.99, you are not looking at a lot of profit after fees.

Okay, I have given you a lot of tough love up to this point. If you haven’t picked up a rock to throw at me yet, read on-the rest is ALL GOOD!!

Your description is FABULOUS. I have never seen anyone use the SSB title box that way, and it’s great!! It really grabbed my attention right there in the beginning. LOVE it!! The body of your description goes above and beyond!! You are really selling it, girl!! If I had to give one critique, I would suggest that you include measurements, but I *always* say that. I’m “broken record rebecca” on the measurements, giggle!!

Your pictures are awesome!! I love that you included so many.

Your terms are just fine!! I would consider offering a flat shipping discount, like $1 or $2 for each additional item. The buyer can figure it out easily, and knows where they stand with shipping.

 Have a wonderful day!

xoxo,

Rebecca

  1. What a cute outfit.
Your listing looks great but I agree with the title and using 2 categories.
I would just choose one category, in this case probably “dresses”, but you could also pick “outfit”
I would omit the subtitle as well.
For Title, I would take out 5 Pc as it doesn’t seem like many would use those as “searchable” words.
I would put Gymboree (The Line Name) Dress Outfit Socks 0-3 M, and if you had room watermelon. I know when I used to search for gymboree for my son, I didn’t always know line names but went by what was on the item. In this case someone might type in Gymboree Watermelon dress.
Again, I love the look of the listing and the template. Very summery and easy on the eyes. Very easy to read. Good Luck!!

  2. I know the listing has ended. I would have changed it to add 0-3 Months as well because you need all the exposure you can get on listings. I believe the listing ended under $7 and I believe this could have ended higher if you added the size in the listing.

  3. Im so sorry it ended so low… hopefully that was a HCTS member who won it!

I agree the title was hard to figure on this one! Myself, I often do not include the line name, when the item is so “themed” like this one is. But – in this case, Summer and Picnic are good words to describe the item anyway!

    Lets see…

Baby Girl Outfit GYMBOREE Summer watermelon 0-3 Red ACK!!!!

I want to put: Outfit, gingham, Watermelon, Baby Girl, Summer Picnic….. I’m stumped!
