Today’s Listing of the day is…
NEW Baby Gap I LOVE DAD Heart Pajamas PJs 2 2T HCTS
Congratulations!
Your title is great. If they aren’t moving, I might try changing HEART to GIRLS and see if that helps.
Your description is very good. I like how you tried to sell to boy moms, too. It is a very nice touch to add the fabric content, especially on sleepwear.
You might want to check your S&H terms. The text says, “$2.00 shipping for each additional eligible item you buy from jabloka!” But the chart says each additional item is FREE.
Your “About Me” page is lovely! I love the stork mall on there!! I just wish I would see more HCTS banners-not just on yours, but on everyone’s. So simple to add, so easy to make money!
Thanks for a great listing of the day!
xoxo,
Rebecca

The listing of the day is…

Great listing! There’s really not much for me to critique, lol. I know you are an “old-timer” like me, and you have this down.
Your title is GOOD. Way to cover the search terms!! Pictures, wonderful. Love how you showed everything. The only thing I would change next time would to have a picture (especially for the gallery) of all 25 of them together, kind of artfully arranged…like fanned out or something. Your description is flawless. You included the title, manufacturer’s name, and the year of publication.
Your terms are well written and your about me page is superb!!

Rebecca

Today’s listing of the day is…
I chose this listing because of the worthy cause you are trying to help in your listings. I’d like to help you edit your listings, to get them SOLD! I noticed you have a lot of these dresses listed with similar issues, so hopefully this critique will help you get them all going.
First of all, your title needs help dear. You have:
SMOCKED DRESS – SZ 8 NWOT 8 YEARS 8T 8 hcts
The first issue I see is that you have 8 in there twice, and 8T as well. The “T” means toddler size, and there is no 8T made by any manufacturer as far as I am aware. I would also eliminate the word years. Here’s what my title would be:
Girl clothes SMOCKED BLUE DRESS church jumper 8 new HCTS
And I am sure our commenters can come up with good options for your title, too. But please please please fix your titles in all your listings right away, okay? We’ve all made these same mistakes. Getting them corrected will help you see a jump in your sales, I am sure.
Okay, next is pictures. If I were you, I’d take all the dresses you are selling outside and use a mannequin, a form, or even just a hanger and display them each in your yard/garden. Then, I’d take full length pictures of the dress, front and back, and a good close up of the smocking. If you need help with editing them and creating a good gallery picture, please just ask us for help in the HCTS forum!!
Your description is pretty good. I love that you included the measurements. There are several phrases that kind of make me uneasy as a potential buyer. I’d immediately remove:
“Customers have reacted differently to the size of the dress. Some tell me it sizes small, others that it sizes big”.
Just say that the measurements are listed here for a perfect fit and that you are happy to take returns if there are any problems at all. Much more positive, see? You also need to tell just about that specific dress first in your listing. I REALLY appreciate your mission of helping women overseas-it makes me want to buy from you….but if I can’t uncover what I am bidding on, it makes it hard for me to take the plunge and bid. Also, your details are outdated in your description. Just say something like, “I have nearly 2000 positive feedback” or something like that.
You should also have a About Me page-it will be invaluable to you in telling your story and mission…and it can create $$ for you by putting your HCTS link on it.
I hope you find this helpful. We are all here to help you improve your listings, get them sold in the shortest amount of time and make the most money!
xoxo,
Rebecca

Today’s listing of the day is…
The seller is Auctionnut1, congratulations!
Great listing title. I like the was you used “denim blue jeans” to cover your keywords, and I also liked that you included the word set.
Your pictures look great, and there are plenty of them!! You did a very good job of showing many different views os the item, and close-ups of the details and flaws. Well done.
The description is well written, and I think you handled the condition/flaw in a very positive way. I’m sad that you don’t have a smoke free home, because I’d bet that does hurt your sales somewhat…but I REALLY like the fact that you addressed that in your listing. My motto when listing is “no surprises”-and you covered yourself!
The big reason I chose this listing was her EXCELLENT job of education buyers about DSR scores. I don’t have her permission to copy/paste it here-but please look at how she included it in her description!
It’s back to work time, ladies! I personally challenge you all to list 10 items today! Remember, when you list-YOU SELL!! Please don’t send anything to auction today, though…it would end on Memorial Day.
xoxo,
Rebecca

Stork Heather, Bellabuggy is going to tell us about her family’s business-Garden Party Teas. She is also offering us a discount! Thanks, Heather!
Garden Party Teas is a family owned and operated business. Barbara Roberts is our President and web geek, entirely self-taught. Dennis Roberts is a jack of all trades and bookkeeper extraordinaire (not his official title, obviously). And Heather Roberts-Nault (BellaBuggy) is the Vice-President and partner who is not pulling her fair share of the weight! As a stay-at-hom mom to three young daughters it’s hard to find enough time to devote to the business, but that situation is gradually improving and hopefully one day I’ll be able to take it all on and allow my parents to truly retire.
My mother and I loved to shop and decided to take our love of yard sales and put it to work for us. We began searching for antique and vintage tea related items and created our own little tea shoppe. We daydreamed about owning a ‘real’ tea room, but having owned a restaurant before we knew we didn’t *really* want to do that again! A small retail space allowed us to combine our love of shopping and our dream of an elegant tearoom without the long, hard hours of labor. Although we enjoyed it, we found that the amount of time required to maintain the business was more than we were prepared to handle. My oldest daughter was a newborn at that time, and my Mom was still working full-time. When mom’s circumstances changed and she decided to ‘retire’ (more on that later), we decided to rethink our goals.
Seeking a broad audience for our unique selection of tea accoutrements, our company closed the doors to our retail shop in favor of our expanding Internet presence.
Our web store was opened in 2004 and has grown steadily every year. What began as a fun outlet has become a big job!
There used to be a commercial where a small company opened their website and gathered around the computer to watch the orders come in. At first they were excited to see one, and then they panicked when the orders started pouring in! Many days we feel like that commercial, struggling to keep up with the volume of sales we are getting, but especially in this economy we feel very blessed to have such a problem. And we look forward to many more successful years to come!
We would also love to offer a discount to my fellow Storks! Just visit www.gardenpartyteas.com and enter code STORK-10 at checkout.
Thanks!
Heather
Thank you, Heather!

Today’s listing is…
Congrats on your great listing! I think you nailed it with keywords in your title.
I alway type this, and then someone comes along with a great idea in the comments. Giggle. That’s what is awesome at HCTS. Even if you have been selling for 10+ years, you still get daily “aha” moments on our forums!
Your pictures are good. You show the product well. I hate to take pictures of pants and shorts, don’t you? I’ve tried hanging them, laying them flat like you did in this auction…pants and shorts are hard to photograph. I love how you can supersize your photos-and they get really HUGE! Your photos leave nothing to the imagination, which is a good thing!
The description is well written. I see you prefer to do a bullet-style description. I usually write a narrative, mostly because that’s what I prefer to read as a buyer and I can then have more searchable keywords. I can see benefits to both-I wonder if research has been done to see which method most buyers prefer? Of course I love your measurements, and ohhhhh-fabric content, too!! KUDOS!!
Your shipping and payment terms are easy to understand. Your return policy raises my confidence!
I noticed you have your about me information right in your listing. Nice idea to personalize your listing, but why do you not have an About Me page? About Me pages are the “silent sales machines” of ebay. They earn you money when you have no listings running, when you are on vacation at the beach, and while you sleep! Put your affiliate links up there, links to your web presence, blogs, etc… and best of all, it’s FREE! Everyone needs a ME PAGE!
Have a wonderful day, ladies. I’m dragging this morning-but the neighborhood with my absolute favorite yard sale home is opening at 8 am!! I hope my favorite house is having a sale this year. If so, I’ll have lots of finds to share with you later!
Oh, and keep an eye on the forum for voting. One of these first 5 Listing of the Days will win $10-selected by YOU!
Keep the comments coming, I love reading them!!
xoxo,
Rebecca

Welcome to the listing of the day, by seller ivfmom1.
Your title is impeccable! No comments at all, I would have listed it exactly the same way.
Your photography is excellent, as well. You took lots of great pictures in natural light (the secret of easy and awesome photos!) and there were a lot of them!!
I was looking this morning for an item with a flaw. Sometimes if there is a flaw, we are tempted to quietly mention it in the description…but in the long run, that only hurts us with chargebacks, returns, item NAD filings, and negative feedback. This seller clearly mentioned the flaws in her listing. None of this “play condition” and no details…that drives me nutty!! AND she clearly shows what we are dealing with in close-up photos. A seller with obvious integrity in a listing makes me want to check out/buy more from her. So, maybe this won’t sell-but I’m sure a lot of people are adding her to their favorites because they can “trust” her.
And YEAH!!! A description with measurements!! Thanks, dear!! The only suggestion I could make here is IF you know that the garment was washed in cold/line dried-it should be mentioned. If you are not the original owner and do not know, then you handled it perfectly.
I love your shipping/payment/return policies. They are clearly stated and easy to understand. I love how you bring up DSRs right in the listing, too. It’s never too early to educate our customers on leaving appropriate feedback. Great job! Oh, and LOVE LOVE LOVE how you mention HCTS right there in the listing…I’d bet you do well with affiliate clicks!! Your Me Page is a great example of what everyone should be doing with that valuable piece of real estate ebay gives us!
Have a great Thursday, everyone-I’m off to yard sale in the rain!
xoxo,
Rebecca

Your listing is great. I like the solid black of your gallery photo background, it really catches my attention. Your title is very good, too. If I was doing the listing myself, I might try to work in the words “outfit” and/or “set”. The first thing that grabs my attention after I enter the listing is the cute template, which matches the outfit perfectly!! :):) Love it…so cheery!
I love the quantity and quality of your pictures. So many views, you really leave nothing to the imagination. You did something I try to do when I’m listing an item with a bunch of photos…I repost the gallery picture as the ending photo in my listing. If the pictures tell a story, reposting the gallery is like a closing paragraph.
I think it’s a great technique!
Your description is well done. You described the set very nicely, and I love that you included the weight information from the tag as well. How helpful for shoppers! You may want to update your description on one matter-it says you have 2 available for twins, but the quantity available is listed as 1. You probably sold the other one and just need to update that.
Shipping, payment and other closing details look great as well.
I want to take a minute to talk to you about your me page. I LOVE LOVE LOVE that you talked a little bit about your family, and how you are selling on ebay to SAH. It makes me *want* to buy something from you. But hey, where’s your HCTS link? Huh? Huh?
xoxo,
Rebecca
