Ebay Listing of the day 5/22/09 KATE MACK SWIM SUIT

The listing of the day is…

Kate Mack Daisy Swimsuit 5 NWT

What’s not to love about this listing? Cute photos and sweet template. And the bonus- she’s a Powerseller with a well organized store!

Your title covers good keywords, tankini and bikini. I would love to hear from our commenters about her use of “swimsuit” versus “swim suit” or “bathing swim suit”. I always try to include bathing, but is that a regional term from the Northeastern US? What do international bidders call suits?

Your description is short and sweet. I don’t blame you for not measuring the suit, but my only critique is that you should have included the fabric content. As a mom of three competitive swimmers, I can pretty much tell how a suit is going to hold up based on the lycra/nylon content…so that’s valuable info to me. :)

Your picture is TDF cute!! I would love to see the back of the suit and a close up of those gorgeous flowers.

Terms, etc are just fine!!

Thanks for another great week, friends!!

 xoxo,

Rebecca

  1. Cute swimsuit! and I love the template. As far as the swimsuit vs. swim suit issue – I say use swimsuit. If you search “swim suit” it still brings up anything with the word “swimsuit” in it. Also, I find it brings up “Bathing” suit as well. Now, my guess is those listings had the word “Swimsuit” used in their item specifics, but “Bathing Suit” was all they had in their title (just speculating as I did not have time to go into every listing). The same goes with “Swimwear”. Just goes to show how important those Item Specifics are, Girls! Don’t try to cram everything into your title and end up leaving out other important stuff. Utilize the item specifics and they will show up in searches all the same!

    Great job!

  2. Love it!

All I would add is a link to those other swimsuits! The code is:
[a href="http://"copy&paste the url to the search results for your listings+swimsuits"]Swimsuits[/a]

BUT, use instead of ] (If I typed it that way, this blog would try to implement the code, rather than display it).
I also add a link just below that to “My Store” or “All my listings” or whatever you want to call it. If you use the eBay sell your item form, you can use the Inserts dropdown box just above where you type your description next. to make that link (no coding neeeed in that case). Also see the link builder icon (globe with piece of chain link).

As for which word to use….. Im not sure either – but you can play with the title and check how it comes up in Best Match sort. Or, if its unsold after a week or two, switch the words.

Oh – HEADS UP…. just looked at the listing again… I found “Boy Shorts” was an awesome word to use… I sold a bunch of suits the same “shape” as yours a month or so ago…. the “boy shorts” ones sold higher and faster… Might want to try that out if you get a chance.

    Good work,
    Cindy

  3. The listing looks great. I may have used a different background to try and make the colors pop on the suit. To me, the white background seems to wash it out a bit.
For Keywords–I think most search swim suit over bathing suit and it does bring up both swim suit and swimsuit from what I can remember. I think if you had space, maybe elimate NWT, and put bathing just to see?
I agree with the fabric content–it might help to sell the product since we can’t touch it.

Again, I think it looks great and I hope it sells quickly for you:)
